We’re big fans of data. Can’t get enough of the stuff.
Our technology crunches it around the clock to find opportunities for clients and members to lower their prescription drug spend. And we’re always looking for data that can tell us more about consumers and how they’re dealing with ever-rising drug costs—especially during these unusual times. As 2020 came to a close, we decided to collect some more.
We surveyed 700 consumers around the country to get their take on some important topics—drug pricing, COVID-19, healthcare decisions and more. What came back was a collection of insightful, often surprising, responses—here's a preview:
- Still on the rise – This one wasn't news to us, but 34 percent of respondents saw the price of their prescriptions increase from 2019 to 2020.
- It's in the mail – COVID-19 has played a role in changing how consumers want to fulfill their prescriptions: 46 percent of consumers switched to home delivery or 90-day fills last year.
- What's next? – 70 percent of respondents expect drug prices to stay at current levels or continue to climb.
